China Association of Chinese Medicine officially issued the clinical guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of frozen shoulder in traditional Chinese medicine (T/CACM 1416-2022) on November 14th, 2022. The guideline covers clinical diagnosis, treatment, prevention and care of frozen shoulder. This paper introduces the background of this guideline and interprets its contents of clinical diagnosis, treatment and prevention. It helps the applicable population deepen their understanding and standardization of traditional Chinese medicine in the prevention and treatment of frozen shoulder, and provides references for the development of relevant guidelines in traditional Chinese medicine orthopedics in the future.
Comorbidity is a prominent public health problem in the elderly population. To carry out research on the comorbidity of the elderly is not only an important breakthrough to realize the national strategy of actively responding to the aging population, but also a vivid practice of earnestly implementing the "Healthy China" and other action programs. Based on the major public health issues of elderly comorbidity, this paper lists the main contents and methods of elderly comorbidity research from the perspective of secondary research and empirical research, and holds that this field contains both the profound thought of "holistic concept" and the advanced idea of "integrative medicine". At the same time, under the background of the new era, the gradual deepening of the research in this field may give birth to a brand-new discipline - geriatric comorbidity.
The spine is one of the most common sites for bone metastases from malignant tumors, and its incidence is increasing year by year. It often leads to severe pain, pathological fractures, nerve compression, and spinal cord dysfunction, seriously affecting the quality of life of patients. The comprehensive treatment of spinal metastases with both traditional Chinese and Western medicine has shown significant efficacy, especially in improving clinical symptoms, promoting postoperative recovery as soon as possible, and enhancing the quality of life. Based on the latest research progress at home and abroad and from the perspective of clinical application, this guideline, grounded in evidence-based medical evidence, has formed 25 recommendations covering treatment objectives, efficacy evaluation, rational selection of traditional Chinese medicine, treatment plans, and postoperative rehabilitation. It provides diagnostic and therapeutic suggestions for orthopedic oncologists, oncologists, radiologists, pain specialists, and other professionals engaged in traditional Chinese medicine, Western medicine, or integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, as well as specialized nurses.
